We will gather at Cal Anderson Park
on Saturday, June 13th
to honor Black, Brown and Indigenous Families directly impacted by
lethal Police Force.

John T Williams was a Nu-chah-Nulth carver, who was murdered by Seattle police on August 30, 2010. He was shot for not responding immediately to orders — he was deaf.

John's brother, Rick Williams promotes peace and calm, rather than civil unrest.
Rick and family honored their brother with a 34-foot, red cedar Memorial Totem Pole, which is erected below the Seattle Center's Space Needle. The Memorial Totem was 3,500 pounds and was carried by more than 100 people from Pier 57 to the Seattle Center.

(you can learn more about that here)

We are sharing space and solidarity with Black, Brown and Indigenous families who have had loved ones murdered by the Police. This is space for families to come together and have ceremony.

We are creating a space to honor and amplify the families and as a community stand in solidarity with them. This is space for families to come together to share their truth and have ceremony.

In the height of the community responses to the murder of George Floyd this event is centered around amplifying families voices most impacted.

This event is a call to action for the community to listen to the families and find out how we can support them and lift them up.
